Oliver is a freelance trumpet player and brass teacher based in Worthing, West Sussex. He is a graduate from the University of Chichester where he studied for a BAHons degree in Music.
Oliver has many years of playing experience in a variety of different groups and genres. These experiences range from symphony orchestras, to brass quintets, chamber orchestras to jazz septets.
Oliver is a classically trained player and has been fortunate enough to be a part of some major classical works. Some of which include, Shostakovich's Symphony No.5, Berlioz "Symphonie Fantastique", Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro" and more.
As well as live performance Oliver also enjoys the technical side to music, including arranging and composing for small ensembles, and audio recording for small pieces.
Oliver wanted to expanded on his knowledge of brass instruments and so visited Wales to participate on a brass instrument repair course in August of 2016. During his time on the course, he learnt about various repair techniques and instrument care, this included dent removal, instrument servicing, instrument construction, soldering and more.
Oliver holds a current DBS check (Previously CRB) and is also a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians. Oliver teaches as part of Inclusive Music and Movement, a music company based in and around the Chichester area.
